JOHANNESBURG – SOUTH Africa’s top performing matriculants have a further reason to celebrate after receiving a sponsorship for laptops and data.
This is part of a joint initiative by the MTN South Africa Foundation and the Department of Education.
MTN SA Foundation will give a total of 100 laptops, ten in each province.
Additionally, ten are being provided to learners with special needs across the country.
Kusile Mtunzi-Hairwadzi, General Manager of MTN SA Foundation, says the organisation is encouraged by the improved matric results and the tenacity shown by the learners, many have studied under challenging circumstances.
“Awarding these laptops is testament to the meaningful contribution that MTN SA Foundation has made in the last 15 years.”
The MTN SA Foundation has other programmes to empower students.
It has a Graduate Internship Programme where students studying mathematics, science, accounting and marketing are provided with internship to get the much needed on-the-job training.
Some of these interns have been incepted to the company.
